oday we are pleased to announce the 2022 Global Conference, “Family Enterprise and the Fourth Economy: Internal and External Pressures to Change and Adapt.” The 2022 conference will be held in Cambridge, MA, from October 26–29 and has been designed and created by the Conference Program Committee, chaired by FFI Fellow and MIT faculty member John Davis. It is presented in collaboration with the MIT Sloan School of Management, the 2022 academic host.

This year’s event brings together speakers from around the world to share their latest thinking and research on the conference theme. Joining the conference will also be FFI’s Futurenaut-in-residence, Mark Stevenson. Please join this global community of thought leaders to learn, reflect, and engage as together explore the many dimensions of “Family Enterprise and the Fourth Economy.”

The keynote presentation and the accompanying sessions are organized as follows:

  • Changing Family Dynamics
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • The Future of Work
  • Societal Trends

Highlights of the program follow.

  • Wednesday evening
    • Opening reception at the new MIT Museum, hosted by the MIT Sloan School of Management
  • Thursday morning, main conference beings at the Boston Cambridge Marriot in Kendall Square with an Opening Keynote by John Davis. Eight sessions on Changing Family Dynamics follow.
  • Thursday lunch, celebrate your colleagues’ educational achievements at the annual GEN Certificate Awards Luncheon
  • Thursday afternoon, join Julie Shah and Tom Malone, both from MIT, for a keynote on The Future of Work, followed by eight sessions on this topic.
  • Thursday evening, Speakers & Sponsors Reception (by invitation). Dinner on your own.

  • Friday morning, main conference continues with an MIT Keynote on Societal Trends, followed by eight sessions on this topic.

  • Friday afternoon, Jason Jay, MIT faculty and FFI conference program committee member will speak on Environmental Sustainability, followed by four sessions on this topic
