Congratulations to the 2019 Academic Award Recipients

Introduction
O

ne of the hallmarks of FFI is its ongoing commitment to advance the field both through publishing, practice, and research. In April, we were pleased to announce the 2019 FBR Award Recipients and last week we announced the 2019 Achievement Award Recipients. Today, we celebrate more outstanding contributions to the field by announcing the 2019 Academic Award Recipients. These awards will be presented at the Miami conference, October 23-25.

Best Doctoral Dissertation Award
This award is given to encourage and recognize outstanding academic achievement in the field of family business study.
The 2019 award-winning paper is:
Innovation Management in Small and Medium-Sized Family Firms: The role of family-induced differences in attitudes and decision models by Jasper Brinkerink for Maastricht University. Jasper is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Free University of Bozen-Bolzano.

Best Unpublished Research Paper Award
The Best Unpublished Research Paper Award is awarded annually after a blind peer review of all submissions. Papers may be on any topic of relevance to the understanding and appreciation of family firms and/or family firm advisors.

Today there are four: Richard Beckhard Practice AwardBarbara Hollander AwardInterdisciplinary Award, and International Award. These prestigious awards are the pinnacles of achievement in the field, and we are pleased to announce this year’s recipients. All awards will be presented at the FFI Global Conference at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay in October.
