The FFI Fellows program was inaugurated at the 2001 annual global conference in London. Twenty years later, there are more than 280 Fellows who come from more than 30 countries around the world. FFI Fellow status is the most prestigious professional designation offered by the Family Firm Institute.
- Fellows must complete either the Certificate in Family Business Advising (CFBA) or the Certificate in Family Wealth Advising (CFWA)
- Fellows must complete an Advanced Certificate, either the ACFBA or ACFWA
- They must present at an FFI global conference or publish in Family Business Review or in FFI Practitioner
- Fellows must have been members of the Family Firm Institute for at least ten years
