e are pleased to announce the 2023 recipients of the FFI GEN scholarships! We thank the generous sponsors of these awards for ensuring that professionals in the field receive the outstanding interdisciplinary education for which FFI has become known globally.

Scholarships for Certificates in Family Business (CFBA) or Family Wealth Advising (CFWA)

de Visscher Advisors Scholarship

In 2010, to celebrate its twentieth year as a company devoted to advising family enterprises, de Visscher Advisors established a GEN scholarship for next generation consultants and advisors in the field.

Josh Wei-Jun Hsueh is Assistant Professor at the Centre for Family Entrepreneurship and Ownership, Jönköping International Business School (Sweden). His research and teaching interests are focused on the social issues related to entrepreneurship and family businesses, such as corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy and individual stakeholders’ well-being. His publications can be found in several international peer-reviewed journals, including Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Business Ethics, Family Business Review, Long Range Planning, and Journal of Small Business Management. He has received several Outstanding Reviewer Awards, including Academy of Management Discoveries and Family Business Review.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Scholarship
The DE&I scholarship is sponsored by Green Associates, LLC, to further the diversity of thought, innovation, and better educational and practice outcome for students in the FFI GEN program.

Yasaman Gorji
Yasaman Gorji is an associate professor at ESSCA Grand Ecole de Management in France. She previously served as an assistant professor at JMSB School of Management in Canada. Born in Iran, her personal journey has deeply influenced her understanding of the importance of fairness and justice in society. In her life and work, Dr. Gorji fully embraces the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her commitment to these principles is reflected in her active participation in family business research groups and her provision of consulting services. Her research on gender inequality among show business families has shed light on the thickening glass ceiling for women in managerial roles, potentially impacting other industries.
Latin American – Caribbean Scholarship
This GEN scholarship is available to candidates from Latin America and the Caribbean. Candidates will also be professionals or academics in the fields of law, finance, behavioral science, or management science who are working with or conducting research on Latin American – Caribbean multi-generational companies.

He worked for Deloitte as a Senior Business Consultant in Strategy and Operations in Mexico City, where he served several AAA companies. Agustin lived in Taiwan for 3 years, where he earned his MBA and learned Mandarin Chinese. He holds a degree in International Business and a law degree from Mexican Universities, and he participated in the program “Strategy and Innovation” from Harvard University, Division of Continuing Education.
Waesche Family Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for those in need of financial support to take the next step in their professional development within the field of family enterprise. Preference will be given to applicants who research and aid in the understanding of the inescapable influence of money on the family enterprise.

Martyna Kwiatkowska is a lawyer and mediator with a law degree from Jagiellonian University in Cracow. At KPMG in Poland, Martyna specializes in providing services to entrepreneurs with particular emphasis on family businesses in the field of tax, administrative, and commercial law. She particularly enjoys working with family businesses and supports them in succession planning, including inheritance and family law. Her main professional goal is to become a family business advisor who will be able to comprehensively support the members of family firms in the challenges posed by running a family business.
Scholarship for Advanced Certificates (ACFBA and ACFWA)
Fitzpatrick & Francis Family Business Continuity Foundation Scholarship
Established in 2013, this scholarship is for individuals who wish to pursue an Advanced Certificate, furthering their interdisciplinary mastery of the field. Applicants for the advanced certificate scholarship must have already received a core certificate.

The Fitzpatrick & Francis Family Business Continuity Foundation is dedicated to providing financial support for the training and education of family business advisors either through grants directly to individuals or to institutions that provide education and training to individuals.

Today, she heads up PwC’s Family Business Centre of Excellence for Africa. She has lived and worked in Amsterdam and across Africa. Her purpose is to keep families together and remove family conflict as much as possible. She is a chartered accountant and registered life and executive coach.
