March 1
Deadline for Best Doctoral Dissertation Award Submissions
The Best Doctoral Dissertation Award is given to encourage and recognize outstanding academic achievement in the field of family business study. The Best Dissertation is awarded annually after a blind, peer review of all submissions.
March 31
Last day to register for the FFI Global Conference with the Winter Rate
Registrations are open for the 2022 conference, “Family Enterprise and the Fourth Economy: Internal and External Pressures to Change and Adapt.” Program details will be available in mid-late March.
April 4 – 6
GEN Spring Seminars

Three virtual half-day courses are being offered April 4, 5, and 6. The seminars are open to all. GEN graduates and currently enrolled students are encouraged to attend. Space is limited to 25 participants per seminar. Register early!

April 15
Deadline for Achievement Awards, Unpublished Research Award, and GEN Scholarships
Achievement Awards: Created to honor the accomplishments of leaders in the field and to increase public awareness of professionals in the field, these four awards are the Richard Beckhard Practice Award, the Barbara Hollander Award, the Interdisciplinary Award, and the International Award.
Best Unpublished Research Paper Award: The submitted paper may be on any topic of relevance to the understanding and appreciation of family firms and/or family firm advisors. Papers should not have been submitted to a journal at the time it is submitted for the award.
GEN Scholarships: Generously provided by individuals and organizations that want to improve the skills and knowledge of family enterprise advisors, these scholarships provide financial support for qualifying students. The 2022 scholarship opportunities for Certificate in Family Business Advising (CFBA) or Family Wealth Advising (CFWA) are the de Visscher Advisors Scholarship, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Scholarships, the Latin American—Caribbean Scholarship, and the Waesche Family Scholarship. Advanced Certificate scholarships are provided by the AlTouq Group and the Fitzpatrick & Francis Family Business Continuity Foundation.
