Deadlines on the Horizon

In the next two weeks several key deadlines are approaching.

Please don’t miss them – all members are encouraged to participate!

March 31:

Last day to register at the Winter rate.
There is an exciting program planned in London for October 24-26.

Board nominations deadline extended.
The 2018 Nominating Committee is soliciting suggestions from the FFI membership for up to four board of director positions for four-year terms that begin following the Annual Meeting in London in October, 2018. The committee is looking for expertise in the following areas:

  • Accessing extended global connections for membership development
  • Behavioral science and organizational development
  • Raising funds for bold and innovative educational and research projects
  • Strategic planning and implementation

 

Next gen candidates and candidates from Latin America and the Pacific Rim are especially encouraged.

April 2:

Registration for Q2 enrollment in GEN certificate programs opens.

April 15:

Nominations, applications, and submission due for:

  • FFI Achievement Awards: Created to honor the accomplishments of leaders in the field and to increase public awareness of professionals in the field, these four awards are the Richard Beckhard Practice Award, Barbara Hollander Award, Interdisciplinary Award, and International Award.

  • GEN Scholarships: Generously provided by companies and individuals, these scholarships provide financial support for qualifying GEN students. The 2018 scholarship opportunities for Certificates in Family Business Advising (CFBA) or Family Wealth Advising (CFWA) are: Crystal & Company Scholarship, de Visscher & Co. Scholarship, and Waesche Family Scholarship.Advanced Certificate scholarships are provided by Carmen Bianchi Family Business Associates and the Fitzpatrick & Francis Family Business Continuity Foundation.

  • Best Unpublished Research Paper Award: Papers may be on any topic of relevance to the understanding and appreciation of family firms and/or family firm advisers. Papers should not have been submitted to a journal at the time they are submitted for the award.
