e are pleased to announce the 2021 recipients of the FFI GEN scholarships for advanced certificates! We thank the generous sponsors of these awards for ensuring that professionals in the field receive the outstanding interdisciplinary education for which FFI has become known globally.

The recipients of the 2021 de Visscher Advisors and Waesche Family Scholarships, as well as the board-sponsored partial scholarships, will be announced next week.

AlTouq Group Scholarships
The Altouq Group annual scholarship aims to support family business practitioners or Next-Gen family members who are committed to the field of family enterprise.

University of San Francisco
Monika Hudson, EdD, DBA, is an associate professor at the University of San Francisco, School of Management and is director of USF’s Gellert Family Business Resources Center. She is currently enrolled in the CFBA program, and her professional development is contributing towards the creation of a new Next Generation Institute at USF.

African Family Firms (AFF)
Tsitsi Mutendi, CFBA/CFWA, is an award-winning businesswoman with over twelve years of experience building her own successful businesses. Tsitsi is recognized globally for her business acumen and world class delivery. She is currently committed to working with African family businesses’ transition from generational wealth to generational legacies. Tsitsi was the 2020 recipient of the Waesche Family Scholarship.
Luz Leyda Vega-Rosado headshot

Inter American University
Luz Leyda Vega-Rosado, PhD, is a full professor at Inter American University. Luz has been invited to participate in various research projects, including STEP (The STEP Project for Family Enterprising) and as Visiting Researcher at Monterrey TEC. Her books include Family Businesses in Puerto Rico: Challenges, best practices, and recommendations (Las empresas familiars en Puerto Rico: retos, prácticas exitosas y recomendaciones).
The AlTouq Group is a Saudi Arabian Family Office established in the 1970s as an investment vehicle for the AlTouq family. It has grown into a sophisticated local and international investor with a global revenue generating asset base.
Fitzpatrick & Francis Family Business Continuity Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship, for those who wish to pursue an FFI GEN Advanced Certificate, was established in 2013 to further the Foundation’s mission of ensuring that family businesses receive the best possible advice as they plan to successfully transfer ownership and leadership of their enterprise from one generation to the next.

University of Vermont
Lauren Bass, MBA, is the coordinator of the Family Business Institute at the University of Vermont’s Grossman School of Business. She is a third-generation family business stakeholder, and she represented their firm in Hong Kong from 2003-2014. Lauren received her MBA from UVM’s globally recognized Sustainable Innovation MBA. She regularly consults for the Vermont Small Business Development Center (VtSBDC) to support early-stage entrepreneurs craft their own sustainability strategies and succession plans.
Fitzpatrick & Francis Family Business Continuity Foundation is dedicated to providing financial support for the training and education of family business advisors either through grants directly to individuals or to institutions that provide education and training to individuals.
