De Visscher Advisors Scholarship

In 2010, to celebrate its 20th year as a company devoted to advising family enterprises, de Visscher Advisors established a GEN scholarship for next generation consultants and advisors in the field.

2021 Recipient

Cristina Alvarado Alvarez

Barcelona, Spain

Cristina Alvarado Alvarez, Psychologist, MA in Systemic Family Therapy, is an experienced advisor of family business groups in matters of family governance, succession, and family ownership agreements. She is a lecturer in Negotiation and Mediation at Universitat de Barcelona. She is finishing her PhD in Psychology of Communication and Change at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

De Visscher Advisors is an independent financial advisor to business owning families and closely held businesses worldwide.

Waesche Family Scholarship

This scholarship is intended for those in need of financial support to take the next step in their professional development within the field of family enterprise. Preference is given to applicants who research and aid in the understanding of the inescapable influence of money on the family enterprise.

Wendy Gilmer

Wendy Gilmer is a financial services executive and founder of Family Five Enterprises, LLC, a consultancy aimed at helping businesses and families align their strategy. She was fourth-generation bank president of an independent community bank and has worked with many family-owned businesses. She has worked for Commerzbank in both NYC and Frankfurt, Germany, where she conducted strategic analysis of large institutional relationships based in New York, London, Tokyo, and across Germany.

D. Randolph Waesche, FFI Fellow, is president and CEO of Resource Management, LLC, a Louisiana Registered Investment Advisory firm. Randy and his firm are long-time sponsors of the Family Business Review and the FBR Best Reviewer Award in addition to his family’s generous support of this scholarship.
