FFI at the Family Enterprise Case Competition
FFI’s collaboration with the University of Vermont Grossman School of Business’ Family Enterprise Case Competition.
FFI is committed to the education and advancement of future generations of family enterprise academics and advisers. This commitment was highly visible in mid-January with FFI’s collaboration with the University of Vermont Grossman School of Business’ Family Enterprise Case Competition (FECC). This year’s competition included 25 teams from 14 countries.
Here are some of the results, which reflect the many FFI members who were active in choosing cases, fielding teams, and acting as judges.
Graduate League Winners
First place winner in the graduate division was the University of Adelaide, coached by FFI GEN faculty member Frank Barbera. Third place went to the Asian Institute of Management, coached by FFI Fellow Ginny Santiago.

Recipient of the best presenter in the Graduate League, Robin Tauck Division, went to Kristina Baumgartner from FFI organizational member Jönköping International Business School, coached by Massimo Baù.

FFI members also competing in the Graduate League were ESADE, Maria Jose Parada, coach, member of the 2019 Miami program and committee and FFI Fellow; Indian School of Business, Nupur Pavan Bang, coach, whose colleague Navneet Bhatnagar is an FBR précis author; Zhejiang University, China, Shihui Chen, coach and GEN graduate with dual certificate.
Undergraduate League
FFI members and schools participating in the Undergraduate League were Oregon State University: Sherri Noxel, coach and FFI Fellow; Universiti Tun Abdul Razak, Malaysia: Mohar Yusof, coach and recipient of the 2018 Waesche Family GEN Scholarship
The Judges
Fifty-two judges from 12 countries included FFI members Patricia Angus, Brett Coffman, Hanqing “Chevy” Fang, Judy Green, Danny Holt, Steve Legler, and Randy Waesche.

  • IOI’s Global Challenge: Moving Up the Palm Oil Value Chain by Marleen Dieleman
