Statement of Purpose

As the co-founder of a family business and someone who has worked in the field of adult education and learning for most of my career, I view serving on the board of the Family Firm Institute as a tremendous opportunity to support the work of family enterprises, and in particular to support lifelong learning and education within the family enterprise community. I look forward to offering whatever experience and expertise I can to helping FFI advance its mission and ensure that this vital segment of our global economy continues to grow and thrive.

Headshot of Dan Frosh

Dan Frosh

Dan Frosh, CFBA, CFWA, is an advisor at Cambridge Advisors to Family Enterprise and currently serves as the managing editor of FFI Practitioner. For the past four years, he has served on the FFI board of directors.

Dan works with multi-generational families to develop strategies for the successful continuity of their enterprises, primarily focusing on designing and implementing effective governance practices, building strong family relationships, holistic estate planning, succession planning, and the ownership dimension of family companies. As an attorney, he also advises families on inheritance planning, ownership transfers, and preparing the next generation to inherit assets. Dan also speaks on family business topics at conferences and academic institutions.

Prior to joining Cambridge Advisors, Dan served as the membership and program director at FFI and was business manager for the Harvard Lampoon, the iconic publication of Harvard College. Dan received his B.A. in Political Science from the College of Wooster and graduated cum laude from Suffolk Law School with a focus on estate planning and closely-held enterprises.

Statement of Purpose

With four years of service on the FFI board and my previous experience serving as the program and membership director at FFI, I am keenly aware of how special and unique an organization FFI is. Serving on the FFI board has truly been an honor, and if reelected, I look forward to continuing to make a meaningful contribution to the future of the organization and the field of family enterprise. In particular, I am eager to work alongside my fellow directors and FFI leadership to pursue its strategic objectives of growing the organization and increasing its visibility in the field through research, education, and FFI’s far-reaching publications.

Statement of Purpose

FFI is the premier global organization connecting, developing, and engaging with the growing community of family business experts, academic researchers-practitioners and service providers. I became a member of FFI in mid 1990s and my participation in the educators development workshop has proved a lighthouse for advancing my professional and academic career. Joining the FFI board will give me the opportunity to work with the team to ensure the organization continues to grow and to better serve the call for more education, training, significant research, and policy solutions. It is an axiomatic gesture to show my gratitude to the progenitors and strategic thinkers shaping our field. I can help to broaden our horizons and expand our frontiers by bringing in my European and MENA network, to build new initiatives and more synergetic cooperation across stakeholders and cultural paradigms.
